Who are we?

Captain Jeff has been working with young people for over 20 years. He has taught music, conducted choirs and ensembles and performed professionally most of his life. His second passion, adventure, has led him to work with middle school, high school and college age students in rock climbing, back packing, wilderness survival, scuba, and sailing. Additionally, Jeff has taught ESOL, math, and GED courses.

He is currently working on his Divemaster's scuba certification having completed Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Equipment, and Cavern certifications. Capt. Jeff holds United States Coast Guard Master 50 ton Captain's license, is Red Cross certified in First Aid and CPR and has parachuted out of perfectly good airplanes.

Between 1993 and 1994 Capt. Jeff and his wife crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice in their own 28' sailboat, Different Drum, logging over 10,000 nautical miles. Leaving Virginia, their voyage took them to Bermuda, across the Atlantic to the Portuguese islands of the Azores, along the African coast to the Canary Islands, back across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and through the islands returning to Virginia.

Captain Elizabeth Armor has her Master's 50 ton U.S.C.G. captain's license and also has jumped out of perfectly good airplanes! She has been a Virginia certified English teacher for over 15 years and will be the reading/writing specialist on board Boundless during our 3 week Reading/Writing Maine Adventure trip this summer of 2010. Ms. Armor is in her 5th year teaching English at St. Margaret's boarding school for girls in Tappahannock, Virginia where her main emphasis is developing reading and writing skills in college bound students.

"Capt. Liz" is scuba certified in Cavern diving, has taught rock climbing, loves to sail, teach, bake, or read a good book if there's ever any time to!

"First Mate" Jennifer Armor when on board Boundless is the Captain of the dinghy! She has sailed over 1000 nautical miles including a recent Gulf Stream crossing from the U.S. to the Bahamas. When not being hauled up the 57' mast her favorite spot on board is at the bow singing and looking for dolphins. Jenn loves to rock climb, loves all animals, and is learning to play several musical instruments.
